Custom Kitchen Remodeling Company – Design & Renovation

Kitchen Renovation Services in Ontario: Custom Design, Cabinetry & Construction

The kitchen is where most days start and where most evenings end up. It is also the room that gets the hardest use, so a tired layout or worn-out finishes quickly become a daily annoyance. If your counters feel cramped, your storage never seems to be enough, or the room is closed off from the rest of the house, a renovation can change how the whole home works. Proventa Construction provides complete kitchen renovation services across Ontario, from the first layout sketch to the final clean-up.

Because we handle design and construction ourselves, you are not left coordinating a designer, a cabinet supplier and several trades on your own. We plan the space around the way you cook and entertain, choose materials that suit your budget, and build the kitchen to code. The result is a room that looks good, works properly and adds real value when it is time to sell.

🏘

Layout & Spatial Planning

A beautiful kitchen still frustrates if the layout is wrong. We look at traffic flow, appliance placement and work zones, then draw a plan that makes daily tasks easier. If a wall is in the way, we can usually find a way to open the space.

📜

Custom Cabinetry & Surfaces

Cabinets make up most of a kitchen, both in cost and in appearance. We help you choose door styles, hardware and storage features, along with countertops and a backsplash that fit your taste and the way you live.

🏠

Plumbing, Electrical & Lighting

What goes on behind the walls matters as much as what you see. Our team handles sink relocations, appliance circuits, lighting plans and ventilation, so everything is safe, up to code and ready for modern appliances.

🏛

Structural Changes & Permits

Removing a wall or moving plumbing can require permits and engineered beams. We prepare the drawings, apply for approvals and coordinate inspections, which means you do not have to deal with the paperwork.

What Our Kitchen Renovations Include

Every kitchen is different, as we are kitchen remodeling company and these are the areas we work on most often.

Open-Concept Conversions

Many older homes have a small, enclosed kitchen. We remove walls, both load-bearing and non-load-bearing, so the kitchen connects to the living and dining areas. Where a beam is needed, it is sized and installed properly.

Islands & Peninsulas

A well-planned island adds prep space, storage and seating all at once. Depending on your room, we can include a prep sink, a breakfast bar or built-in outlets.

Workflow Design

Good kitchens are built around the path between the sink, the stove and the refrigerator. We plan that triangle carefully so cooking feels natural, even when more than one person is in the room.

Custom & Modern Cabinetry

We install precision-built cabinets with soft-close hardware, pull-out organizers and pantry solutions. Good storage is often the difference between a kitchen that looks great and one that is also easy to use.

Quartz & Granite Countertops

Both are durable and attractive. Quartz is low-maintenance and consistent in colour, while granite offers a natural look. We measure, fit and seal them so they last.

Backsplash Installation

Ceramic, porcelain, marble and glass mosaic tiles protect your walls from splashes and add character. Clean cuts and even grout lines make a bigger difference than most people expect.

Lighting & Fixture Upgrades

Pot lights, under-cabinet LED strips and island pendants make a kitchen easier to work in and nicer to be in. We also add dimmers so you can set the mood in the evening.

Plumbing & Electrical Work

This includes moving sinks, installing new faucets, hooking up dishwashers and adding dedicated circuits for appliances. Electrical work is done to code and inspected where required.

Durable Kitchen Flooring

Kitchens see spills and heavy traffic. Water-resistant luxury vinyl plank, large-format porcelain tile and hardwood are all good options, depending on your budget and style.

How We Run a Kitchen Renovation

A kitchen project has a lot of moving parts. Here is how we keep it organized.

1. Consultation & Measurements

We start by visiting your home, listening to what bothers you about the current kitchen and taking exact measurements. We also talk about budget early, so the design stays realistic.

2. Design & Material Selection

Next comes the layout, followed by cabinets, counters, tile, flooring and lighting. If your plans involve structural work, our team prepares the architectural drawings and permit application at the same stage.

3. Pricing & Scheduling

Once the plan is settled, you receive a written scope of work, pricing and timeline. Cabinets can take weeks to arrive, so we order them early.

4. Demolition & Construction

We protect the rest of your home, remove the old kitchen and start the rough-in work. After inspections, cabinets, counters, tile and finishes go in.

5. Final Walkthrough & Clean-Up

We finish with a detailed walkthrough, fix any small items and clean the site thoroughly. You should be able to use your new kitchen right away.

What Affects the Cost of a Kitchen Renovation?

No two kitchens cost the same, and knowing why can help you plan.

Size & Layout Changes

Replacing finishes in the same layout costs far less than moving walls, plumbing and gas lines. Keeping the footprint is the simplest way to control the budget.

Cabinetry Choice

Stock, semi-custom and fully custom cabinets differ widely in price. Since cabinets are usually the largest single cost, this decision has the biggest effect on the total.

Countertops & Appliances

Stone type, edge details and appliance packages all add up. Some homeowners spend more on counters and less on tile, or the other way around.

Hidden Conditions

Older homes sometimes reveal outdated wiring, uneven floors or old plumbing once the walls are open. We recommend setting aside a contingency for this.

Why Choose Proventa Construction for Your Kitchen?

Turnkey Project Management: We manage every phase, from floor plans and material selection to the final inspection and site clean-up, so you have one team to call.
Careful Craftsmanship: Precise installation, clean tile work and solid construction matter most in a room that gets this much use.
Clear Pricing and Timelines: You get a written scope of work before we start. If something changes, we explain it before any extra work goes ahead.
Design and Construction Together: Since we are also a building construction company, we can handle larger changes such as wall removal, new openings and structural reinforcement without bringing in another contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions: Kitchen Renovation

Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask us most often.

Timeline, Cost & Permits

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

Most full kitchen renovations take several weeks once construction begins, although larger projects with structural changes take longer. In addition, custom cabinets often have a lead time of a few weeks, so the planning stage matters. We give you a schedule before work starts.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost?

The price depends on the size of the room, the quality of materials and how much work is needed behind the walls. A cosmetic update costs much less than a full redesign. Once we see your space and hear your goals, we can give you a realistic estimate.

Do I need a permit to renovate my kitchen?

It depends on the scope. Replacing cabinets and counters in the same layout usually does not need a building permit. However, removing load-bearing walls, changing plumbing or adding new openings often does, and electrical work may require an Electrical Safety Authority permit. We check the requirements for your project and handle the applications.

Layout & Materials

Can you remove a wall between my kitchen and living room?

In most cases, yes. First, we find out whether the wall carries load. If it does, an engineered beam and posts will replace it, and a permit is usually needed. Either way, we plan the work so the opening is safe and the finish looks seamless.

Which countertop is better, quartz or granite?

Both are good choices. Quartz is engineered, so it offers consistent patterns and needs no sealing. Granite is natural, with unique veining, and it handles heat well but should be sealed. We can show you samples and help you decide based on how you use your kitchen.

During & After the Renovation

Can I use my kitchen during the renovation?

Not for the main construction period. Because the sink, stove and counters will be removed, most families set up a temporary kitchen in another room. We can suggest a simple setup, and we try to keep the disruption as short as possible.

Does a kitchen renovation increase the value of my home?

Generally, yes. Kitchens are one of the first things buyers notice, and an updated, well-built kitchen makes a home more appealing. The return depends on your area and how well the renovation fits the rest of the house, so it is best to avoid over-building for your neighbourhood.

What happens if we find a problem behind the walls?

It happens fairly often in older homes. When it does, we stop, explain what we found and give you the cost and timing options. Nothing extra goes ahead until you approve it.
